Presenter: Tricia Stodden, Grade 5 Classroom Teacher, Reading Public Schools

Time:  3:45 – 6:00 PM

Audience: Grade 3-5 Teachers

Dates: Wednesdays, January 6, 13, 20, 27, 2010

PDP’s: 10 Hours with Completed Project

 

 

Description: This workshop will begin with a review of case studies of struggling writers highlighting successful strategies that helped in their writing development. Each session will look at modeled lessons that allow for differentiation; management tips to stop the never-ending conference line; conferencing techniques; book-making ideas to increase student motivation; and discussion on motivational uses of technology. Brainstorming and problem solving time with fellow participants will be used to identify helpful strategies for our hard to reach writers.
