Description:

The technology tools of today allow mathematics teachers to help their students visualize topics in mathematics that were difficult to present just a few years ago. Autograph and the incorporation of electronic whiteboards in many mathematics classrooms provide the visualization of mathematics to students of all ability levels.

This hands-on workshop will provide participants with the instruction and strategies needed to integrate Autograph into their mathematics curriculum. By the end of the session, teachers will be able to: use Autograph to create professional looking worksheets and assessments using graphs copied from Autograph; create Autograph files that can be used with Smart Notebook to demonstrate skills and concepts being presented in class; see how using the Airliner can improve instruction in the mathematics classroom; and be comfortable with one or two of the major features of Autograph and the appropriate pedagogy for its use.

If you are unfamiliar with Autograph, visit the website www.thelearningteam.org. Participants who do not have access to Autograph will be provided with instructions on how to download a trial version of the program. Each participant will be given a number of sample lesson plans to use within their mathematics classrooms.
