Description: Participants will use the Senteo interactive response system to create both formative and summative assessments, including interim assessments. Teachers will be given opportunities to input class lists, create assessments, enhance SMART Notebook lessons teachers may already have, and analyze results of assessments. Participants must have experience with SMART Notebook. It is recommended that you bring any assessment materials you wish to use along with a flash drive to share and save materials. If you have access to the Senteo Software on a laptop, please bring it.
Session 1: Participants will create class lists and learn the basics on creating all types of questions. The effectiveness of Senteo in creating formative and summative assessments will also be discussed.
Session 2: Teachers will use questions already created in another document (i.e. Word) to make a Senteo assessment. Different ways to create questions using multiple sources will be addressed. Opportunities will be given to create questions for dip-sticking during daily lessons. Discussion will include how to analyze the results of formative assessment and use it to guide your teaching.
Session 3: Teachers will create a summative assessment (either test, interim, or final exam) during this session and be shown how to create and save an item analysis of results.
Session 4: Participants in the class will share assessments, data will be collected and analyzed.
