Students
Description: Using SMART Notebook 10.0 as a starting point,
mathematics teachers will learn how to manipulate all the wonderful SMART Board
features and tools as well as learn how to integrate other outstanding mathematics
software and TI tools into your lessons.
Participants will receive a CD that will provide them with TI-Nspire
Teacher software at no cost ($145 value) and a one year license for Autograph
($129 value). Online tools such as Google Earth and Jing picture and video
capture will be integrated into the lessons as well. Lessons and activities
developed in the class will be shared using DropBox.com (free file sharing
website.)
Session 1: Use of SMART Boards and SMART Notebook
This session will give the participant a general overview of how SMART Boards can be used in everyday lesson plans. It will include an overview of how all the components work together, and the development of lessons using SMART Notebook Software, and the Smart document reader. Included in the discussion will be the distribution of the free software and the websites that will be used over the next three sessions.
Session 2: Integrating SMART Notebook 10.0 with other software programs
This session will focus on using the Smart Notebooks gallery, Autograph and Cabri/Sketchpad in designing engaging lessons.
Session 3: Using TI Technology in the Classroom
This session will look at the use of the TI product base to see how it can be used to develop engaging activities for your classroom. Lessons and activities will be searched from TI’s website that can be incorporated into your curriculum.
Session 4: Putting it all together
This session will use many of the technologies in designing professional looking lessons, worksheets, assessments, etc.
