Meeting the Needs of Our Struggling Writers in Writing Workshop

Location:              Lynnfield High School, Essex Street, Lynnfield, MA

Presenter:             Tricia Stodden, Grade 5 Classroom Teacher, Reading Public Schools

Time:              3:45 – 6:00 PM

Audience:             Grade 3-5 Teachers

Dates:                         Wednesdays, October 14, 21, 28, November 4, 2009

Cost:               $50 for Member Districts          $195 for non- Districts         

PDP’s:             10 Hours with Completed Project

 

 

Description: This workshop will include case studies of struggling writers highlighting successful strategies, modeled lessons that allow for differentiation, management tips to stop the never-ending conference line, conferencing techniques, book-making ideas to increase student motivation, infusion of motivating uses of technology, and brainstorming and problem solving time with colleagues to identify helpful strategies for our hard to reach writers.
